Blender Magic – Fluid Demo

I thought this was a very cool demonstration of the fluid capabilities of Blender. It shows a "magician" character, who "magically" conjures the water into different shapes:

    So,as the fluid solver in Blender uses a different grid-based solver,I don’t see a way to easily make use of the acceleration.

    hey i have blender 2.49b for mac. it freezes when i make an animation in a random spot no matter how simple the render. Can anybody help me.
